Regulations for Ring Events at St George Show 2025:
FILL IN INDEMNITY AND HORSE HEALTH DECLARATION FORMS AT SECRETARY BOX PRIOR TO COMPETING
Indemnity forms and horse health declaration forms MUST be signed prior to competing In any classes. All horses must be free of hereditary disease. A green armband will be issued once completed and worn by all competitors prior to competing in any class.
All competitors must use helmets that comply with Australian Standards whilst riding on the grounds, with the exception of ASH classes.
Horses competing in ASH classes must be ASH registered and the rider/handler a financial member of the Australian Stock Horse Society to be eligible to compete.
Horses competing in ANSA classes must be ANSA registered and the rider/handler a financial member of the Australian National Saddlehorse Association to be eligible to compete.
It is the responsibility of all exhibitors to ensure their horses are in the correct classes where heights are stipulated. In case of a dispute, it will be the exhibitors responsibility to provide proof of height.
Exhibitors wishing to have their horses measured can do so between 7am and 8am on Sunday morning.
The Show Society has the right to change or alter the program at any time,
The Show Society will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or injury to any rider, horse, equipment or spectator.
Protests in writing accompanied by a cash deposit of $50 must be received no later than 15 minutes after the relevant class has finished.
In the event of the protest being dismissed by the dispute committee, this deposit will be forfeited.
All competitors must be neatly attired. Any contestant, who, in the opinion of the stewards, Is not suitable attired, shall be precluded from competing in any event.
Junior Riders under 17 years are not permitted to wear top boots in under 17 years classes.
Stallions to display appropriate green disc and be adequately restrained at all times. To be handled/ridden by persons 18 years and older.
Nominations:
Ticket system of entry to the ring - tickets can be purchased from the secretary’s box from 6:30am on the morning of the event. Tickets must be presented filled out to the steward before judging commences. No Ticket, No Entry.
There will be NO refund on tickets.

For the purposes of this entire section the following definitions apply:
DISTRICT EVENTS - horse and rider must reside within the Balonne Shire or 100km radius.
MAIDEN - a horse which has never won a first prize for a corresponding event at any Agricultural Show.
NOVICE -horse that has not won a Championship at any Agricultural Show.
PONY - must not exceed 14 hands and must be ridden by a child rider under 17yrs of age, ponies can be ridden by an adult in class 19B with the exception of Stallions in “Any Other Breed” Classes.
GALLOWAY - must be over 14 hands and must not exceed 15 hands.
HACK - a horse over 15 hands.
PLEASURE HACK - must be ridden in a snaffle bit, no spurs, whip or drop nose band.
STALLIONS - are not permitted in hack classes.
SHOW HUNTERS - must wear bridles with plain browbands. No coloured ribbons to be worn in hair. hunters over 12.2hh can be ridden by adults.
HORSES ARE ONLY PERMITTED TO COMPETE IN EITHER THE HACK CLASSES OR THE HUNTER CLASSES - NOT BOTH!

Highest Point Scores for local child rider taken from all classes competed in during the course of the Show.
Points from novelty events will be awarded to the highest place per event e.g one horse results per event.
Nomination forms are available from the Secretary’s Office and must be filled in and signed by each judge or Steward for that event in order to collate overall points.
Competitors are responsible for ensuring that the nomination forms are duly completed and handed in to the Secretary at the completion of all the ring events.
Points will be allocated as such: 1st - 5 | 2nd - 3 | 3rd - 1.
